REV G. H. COLE'S MISSION.

The Rev, Mr Oole continued his mission in Whiteloy Memorial Church yesterday, The afternoon Bible-read-ing was well attended, and the Rev, Oole continued his romarks on the " Garden of the Lord." The interest; was well maintained. In the evening the subject was "The Lion and the Lamb, led by a child," and the text was Matthew, 18sh chnp'w 3rd verse, ''Except ye ha converted, and become as little children." There was a good attendance, and the address was a sound, practical one. The influence of children was dwelt upon, and many iastaoees givou where children had bean the means of bringing parents to God, The spirit of the child roquired to be copied or manifested in coming to good, Mr Oole dwelc on the diff«r----i-nce between childishness and childlikeness, In the conduct of the aftermeeting Mr Oole's methods are marked with strong common sense, appealing to the reason rather than to the emotions.

The Mission continues to-day and to-morrow. The Bible-reading will be continued at 2 p.m. We need only to remind our readers of the leeture in the Theatre Royal this evening by tho Rev. G. H. Cole to ensure a crowded attendance. The increasing intereat shown in his services during the week prove his popularity, and the apecial topic of rescue work, told from the lips of one wbo spends his time in looking after the waifs and strays of Melbourne, is bound to draw. The lecture is worth going miles to hear, and, as this is the only time a New Plymouth audience will have an opportunity of enjjying such a treat, we prediot a crowd-id house.

The closing meeting takes place on Friday.
