In the evening at 7.30 a hrge congregation assembled to hew the rev. gentleman's discourse on the vepy original subject he hid announced'to spaek on. The subject, though an original text was selected, was really a vtry old one, via., " The power of God's grace to convero and Bave (-v.-n the worst of sinners," as exemplified in the story of Zaccheus. Tee rev. gentleman took full advantage of this striking occasion) and further illustrated a powerful piece of word painting by re'ating the story of the conversion of " Ginger," the celebrated leader of the no'orious " larrikin push " in (South Melbourne, and who is now one of the ablest and most effective Christian workers of that ci'y. Mr Cole spoke with great power and earnestness, and produced a marksd impression.
