MUSICAL EXAMINATION.

The local examinations of the Associated Boaid of the Royol Academy of Music and the Royal Col'ege of Musie were held on the Bth and 9feh inst., before Mr George Langley, of London. That the examination was of a strict and searching nature is apparent from the fact that of thirty-eight pupils of all grades, fourteen failed to pass, and only two gained honours or distinction. The following are the names of the successful candidates, the subjects being pianoforte playing unless otherwise stated. Pupils of Mrs F.T.Baker: Senior Local— Ada M. Dickson (honours), Gladys Nixon, Iris O'Leary, Winifred Baker (singing). Lower School Division: Eileen O'Leary, Leonora Robertshaw. Elementary Division: Eilsen O'Loughlen, Hilda Kennedy. Pupils of the Sisters of Mission: Senior Loeil—Amelia H. Smith, Mabel Olarb. High School Division: —Violette Foote, Ellen Sutton. Lower School Division :—Annie Claffey, Elizibath Godeell, Queenie Hawkinp. Elementary Division: Eteie Bannetfc (distinction), Eily Brenjnan, Ada Lauia Wood, and from Oounake branch school, Helen Middletou arid Maud Middieton. Other teachers.—Lr»ver School Division:—Constance Le.itham (pupil of Mies Stanford), Ethel Graat (pupil of jftg Pope), Olave O'Leary (pupil of Mrs McNeight, violiD).
