FIRES.
FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Haweba, October 10. The residence of Mr F. McGuire (late M.H.R. forHawera), at Okaiawa, narrowly escaped destruction by fire yesterday. A fire was first discovered ina paseage, and was extinguished, but subsequently it broke out again, when it spread to the roof, and it was only after very strenuous efforts on the part of Mr McGuire and his family that th>building was saved.
