SUNDAY SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT.
I WHITELEY HALL. ( A very successful entertainment was given at the Whiteley Hall lat>t evening in connection with the Sunday School, The bailding was crowded and the interest in the performance of the children was sustained to the close of the proceedings. The programme consisted of a " kinderspiel" entitled, '• Old Friends with New Faces," and was representative ot n. party of merry ycuog people and children engaged in j games of all sorts. The principal parts were fillc d by Misses Ethel Collie, Ada Wbittaker, Lily Hulbert, Ainsworth, Alice Tong, Ida Blanchett, and Masters Leslie Sole, Roy Okey, Ken Shorney and Vincent Boulton. The items rendered by these were all well received by the audience and the choruses were excellently given. The performance reflected the greatest credit on Miss May Oannel!, who had trained the young people, and she was ably assisted by Miss Oollis, who played the accompaniments throughout. At the close of the programme the Rev. J. N. Buttle asked the audience to accord their thanfes to the performers which was done with hearty applause, special mention being made of the services of Misses Oannell and Oollis. Mr Garter (school superintendent) thanked the audience for the support which had been given to all the concerts held this season, by which the funds of the school had received substantial help. The National Anthem brought to a close one of the brightest and most enjoyable entertainments which has been given in New Plymouth for a long time.
