BMUGGLING ARMS ON LABOUR BOATS. ARREST OF NATIVES. m PKEBS ASSOCIATION, Received 7, 11.10 p.m. Bmsbanit, October 7. lb Woodford, Government Resident at the Solomon Islands, has foi warded to the Governor of Queensland a report, that a quantity of arms and ammunition has been sm'j;.'«led aboard the labour schooner Ivanhoe, presumably from Queensland, and that several natives have been arrested and punished for smuggling. He also says that the statements made by' the prisoners reveal an astounding condition of affairs, and prove that the smuggling of arms from Queensland by labour ships has become an organised business.
