A. special mre'ing of the Boxrd convened on the requisition of Messrs Maxwell, McLean and Foreman, will be held to-day for the purpose of doal- | ing with the following motion :—That the New Plymouth Harbour Board Empowering Bill be amended eoasto provide (1) That all the words after the words " the said Act " in (he sixth line of clau e 4 be struck out. That telegrams signed by the Chairman be at otce de-patehed to th 9 Chairman of the Loci! Bills '"ommit'ee and to each of the members of the House representing Taranaki electorates (viz., Messrs Smith, .Jen•ingp, Srmes, and Maj >r), such tel-> grains to embody tho above amendments and to state that it is the desire of the Board that the Bill shall be so imended and that it shall became law this session.
