DESTRUCTIVE FIRE AT WANGANUI.
SASH AND DOOK FACTORY GOITED. STACKED TIMBER BURNT. PLANT DE3TROIED. FEB FBEBB ASSOCIATION. Wanoanui, September 29, The biggest fire which has occurred in Wanganui took place to-night, when the extensive buildings of the Sash and Door Company were totally destroyed, A. Urge quantity of stacked timber was also burnt. The plant, which was (he most up-to-date in tbe colony, is completely destroyed. Some 100 men and boys will be temporarily thrown out of work, while the local building trade will be temporarily dislocated. The amount of damage, insurances, etc, cannot be ascertained tonight.
