WEDDING AT CARRINGTON ROAD.

A very pretty wedding was celebrated in the above named district on Thursday. The ceremony took place in the new Wesleyan Church, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion, the Misses Wilkie(2) assisted by other girl friends of the bride having undertaken this work to show their kindly regard and esteem for the bride. A beautiful floral arch spanned the aisle, whilst native ferns, wild clematis, white camelias and lillies were in great profusion. The contracting parties were Mr Fred Morris, son of Mr F. J. Morris, of Oakura, and Miss Eleanor Fjrancis Riley, daughter of Mr John B. Riley, Carrington-road. The Rsv J. N, Buttle was the officiating clergyman, and tho wedding hymn "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eien " was sung at the commencement of the service, The bride looked lovely in a very handsome white corduroy velveteen dress, trimmed with lace, and floral favours. She ah-o wore a lovely orange wreath and veil, and carried in her I hand a beautiful shower bouquet. Miss | Laura Riloy was chief bridesmaid, and Mr Tom Morris was best man. As 1 this was the first wedding celebrated in j the church, in accordance with a tirnebono«r£.d custom, at tho close of the ceremony, the Rev Mr Buttle on behalf of the church trustees, presented the newly married couple with a Bible and hymn-book. As the party left the church (which was crowded with the relatives and friends of the young people), the Wedding March was played by M'ss Wilkie, An adjournment was make to the residence of Mr and Mrs Riley, where a number of friends were most hospitably entertained. The Rev Mr Buttle proposed the health of the bridegroom in appropriate term?, wishing them lang life, every happiness, and God's richest blessing. After the photographer had taken the bridal party, and also a group of those present, the company broke up to re-assemble at Oakura in the evening, where a large party were entertained by Mr and Mrs Morris.
