The taking of evidence is likely to occupy some time. In connection with the New Plymouth Harbour -Empowering Bill, th» following delegates from those districts in Taranaki opposed to the m«asui* appeared before the Local Bills Commitee this morning, vii* Mmm Maxwell, OpunaVe; Hornby'and Lean, Hawera; Bridge Manaia; Cameron, Stratford ; Marx, Eltham; Pearoe and Foreman, Waitara; and Obristopher, Eltham and Ngaire. The Chairman of the M first heard Mr Connett and counsel aoting for the promoters of the Bill.
