THE WALKING CRAZE.
FEB PPBBH ASSOCIATION. Hobart, September 21. The walking c aze had a tragic termination on Saturday. Forty competitors started to walk to a pinnacle on the topmost point of Mt. Wellington and back.. weath°r was inclement. Midway up the mountain a heavy snowstorm commenced, and the condition of the walkers became serious. Some became rigid with oold and others f tinted. Only two reached the pinnacle. The men came struggling back at intervale, some temporarily demented. ' Two were mwuncr, and search parties found Richa'd' dead on the traok. T he body of Radford was f 'und some disj tance off, hi" foot being caught in the cleft of a sapling, I The winner Cocksbutt suffered severely.
