Sis- Joseph Ward would nevor consent that the cost of a railway carriage, to last thirty years or so, was to be taken out of the pockets of the people by putting murderous rates upon them. After prolonged discussion the whole vote was passed unaltered. Progress w*s reported and the House rose at 7.50 a.m.
