At the Welling! en Synagogue on Wednesday afternoon, Mr AdolphusGold water, of New Plymouth, fifth son of Mr Nathan Goldwater, of Auckland, was united in marriage to Miss Lily Hart, second daughter of the late Mr Nathan Hart, of Dunedin. The ceremony was performed by thd Rev H. "Van Staveren. The bride, who was given away by her mother, wore a handsome white silk dress, with pearl lace trimming, with the usual veil and floral accessories. ' She was attended by Miss Goldwater, niece of the bridegroom, and Misses Esther and Vera Asher, who also wore white silk. The bridegroom was given away (in accordance with Jewish practice) by his sister, Miss Goldwater, and was assisted by Mr Rupert Hart as best man, and Mr L Eppstein as groomsman. A reception was held after the ceremony at G)dber's rooms, where afternoon tea was served. Numerous presents testified to ahe popularity of the young couple. At a meeting of the Captain Cook Memorial Committee at Gisborne, it was decided to tffer L 25 for competitive designs of the proposed memorial, to cost about LIOOO, designs to be in by March 31st.

Agnes Emily Brooks, of New Brighton, holder of m infanta' home license, and Alberh Herbert Brooks, her husband, have been committed for trial on a charge of wilfully neglecting a child so as to cause it unnecessary suffering.
