WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.
♦ (From otjr Own (Johbesponden?.) The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs T. Western (chairman), Orowe, French, Turnbul), and Old. Correspondence was read from tbe Land and Income Tax Department, stating that voucher bad been sent to i tbe Treasury for pajment of subsidy 1 on last year's rates, : Mr O. Hull reported that ccsfc of repairs to Maoutahi E sfc Road bridge would be - concrete about .£45, and 1 timber about .£ls, labour included, and the earthwork approaches ex fro. Mr Orbell attended the meeting and i advised that the Kelly-road contract • had better be held over, Mr Murray not having signed the specifications, and that owing to this it would be doubtful if the Board would get any Government subsidy were one granted. It was resolved that all tenders be returned unopened and tbat no further proceedings be taken until after the Public Woiks estimates were passed. The action of the Chairman in authorising a. plan to be got ready of proposed deviation on Karaka-road was 1 confirmed. Accounts were passed for payment, and the Beard adjourned,
