OONFfiRKNOK OF COUNCILS. AUREKMENT ARRIVED At. At the County Council meeting on Monday the Chairman reported tbe | rf suit of bis interview with the Borough Council relative to the Htnui bridge. The Council went into committee to consider the of the Borough Council's proposals for rebuilding the H< nui bridge. On resuming it was resolved that a ' committee consisting of the Chairman, Ors. Hill, Hopson and Gray meet the representatives ot the Borough Council to ditcuss the nutter, with a view to arriving at a settlement. In the aftirnoon a conference wai i held at tbe Town Hall by the repre* nentatives of both bodies, resulting in 'an agreement bring an ived at am'cably. i If, as is probabi", tbe terms are api J proved by the Borough Council, a long i .Standing difficulty will be overcome. It is understood that tbe amount of i contribution by the County to the cost I if the new bridge was agreed up>n, and I I that the matter has been arranged in eilch a way that no special rate will ' n*ed to be levied by the Couuty Council for the purpose.
