At the outset the Snamrock had the wicdward birth, and for a short time waa footing it f.-.st, but. the Reliance by outpoin'ing passed her. The wind was soon blowing at nine knots, and the R-liunce strengthened ber position, her advantage to the outer bt-ing 6 minutas 9 seconds, deducting the allowance, She soon led by two miles and won by three., A dense fog covered the course towards the close of the race, preventing the Shamrock from finishing.
