By the fire on Wednesday night the schoolroom adjoining the Wes'.eyan Ohurch was totally destroyed. The , thurch was damaged, but saved by the brigade after an hoar's work. Tbe church furniture and sohool library were saved. The cause of the fire u unknown. The building was looked up when the fire was discovered. The insurance was £450 in the New Zealand lnsurar.ee Company, When this fire was under control a fresh alarm was *iven, but it proved to be only a chimney in tewn, which was soon ex- , tinguished.
