At the Theatre Royal to-night will be given » concert tkitf should attract a crowded hous o . The performers are mostly expert musicians of,high rank and the programme is one of the best that has been submitted to a~Ne\v Plymouth audience. Moreover the instrumental portion cf the entertainment is one that appe.l< to the generality of people and has a peculiar fascination even for those who lay no claim to musical taste, and yet are fastidious in the mitter of being pleased. There is something particularly charming in the music which, under skilled manipulation, is evoked from guitars and mandolins, and the Cornwall finely have made themselves famous with these instruments, never failing to de light their audiences. To hear but the Egyptian Midnight Parade is alone worth more than the price of admission. There is also the attraction of the boy violinist, Master Harris, whose flaying is said to be marvellous. Every item on the programme is what may he termed popular, and for those who enjoy humorous songs Mr. Sumner's items should form an attraction. The vocal tumbers are all well choson, and there need be no fear but tbat thsy will be well rendered, The concert bids fair to furnish an eejoyable evening's ontertainment, and to m's3 being present would bo to It si a treat. There is nothing of tho amateur element about the programme, bui all that paics and money cou'd eftoct has been done to present to the people of New Plymouth a concert that will give all classt s the maximum amount of enjoyment.
