A fire broke out tbis evening in M'cCal'um and Oo.'s sawmills and woodware factory in Vojr-l-stisjat, and spreadingiapidly with - high sou- h-w~sfc wirjd prevailing, th, l place was completely gutted. There was a (.-•"<:id denl of valuable mtchin.ry in tbe factory, but it> is impossible to say yet if it is completely spoilt. The hardware store of the firm adjoining escaped wi'h very little damage. The two-storied building and contents were insured in tbe North Queensland Office for £ 1100, and there was a policy for .£4OO over the hardware store and contents. There was a re-iosurance of one third of the amount in tae Alliance Office. Tbe firo is supposed to have been caused by a spark from an engine.
