Wellington, N.Z., October 2?tfL, 1902. Mb lain!.—Dear Sir, 0 I feel it ray duty to let you know what your Eraoleioa, **nri fresh air, has done for me. Twelve months &go hat September I was bo ill with my lungs that I had to go into the Wellington Hospital. I had been under tta eaxe of five (5) different doctors, who said my case was oho of consumption. I was told that my only chance was to go either to the " Blue Mountains" or the hospital. Aft.sc being in the hospital six (6).. weeks I returned home somewhat relieved, but not cured. I had a very nasty, hacking, hollow cough, sad was frequently spitting blood. Owing to the coughing being so bad at night, morphia tiblots were ordered to enable me to sleep a little at night. Jly flesh was gradually, but surely leaving my bony, andl was getting weaker raid weaker, and was tired all the time. In Aprfl-ofthia year (1902) I commenced taking lane's Emulsion through reading your little book, which was put under the door. The doctor who Was attending ins said I was doing right, and advised me to Continue with it. I think he said this jMt to please me as much as anything. At this time my stomach was so weak, digestion so poor that I could hardly retain the Emulsion, but by penistent efforts it gradually strengthened ay digestive organs, and after a while I had no difficulty in keeping it down. It must have been a month or six (6) weeks before I could tell there was any improvement. In fact, I was beginning to loss hope of yoor Emulsion doing me fjood. Beading the testimonials from time to time they induced me to continue. The testimmial of Trooper Orr, and his statement about how he regained his health through being persistent with the BmnlsOn gave me fresh hope. I am now so thankful I was persistent. It was about this time that an improvemeat began to be noticeabie The couching was still very bud, and the bleeding had not entirely stopped, but there was a kind of feeling that I was getting a little better strength. This helped me on, and gave me fresh hope that I might still be well again. Bight up to now, seven months later, I have kept on taking the Emulsion. At first one bottle each week, theu two, and as I got stronger the duse was increased. For the past two (2) months I have been taking three (3i bottles each we?k. I am now on my forty-fourth (-11) boitM. It Im beeu money well spent. Lnne'y Emulsion, fresh air and persistency have given me a new lease of life. e>
Lnst February my weight was 8 atone 6 pounds. By April I harl decreased to 7 stone. Since tlien I hare gradually increased and have now gained 10 pounds. Lust February and March I was quite unable to walk but a few paces, the least exertion would tire ine very much. Now—October—l can, and do, walk quite five (5) mt'e* nnch fine day. The walk I usually take is from my liouae, round the Patent Slip, through Kilburnie, on to Newtown, and home again. This walk h now no trouble tome. ® Just vrevious to Inking the Emulsion, my doctor *iid !>►; could do no more for mv. Now I can sing my old songs as v;o!l as ever I did, showing my lungs are strong und sound. As further proof that my cafe was one of consumption, I was reported to the Health Officers who visited the house in which I was liviug, and tV-v sent me a circular issued by t'r.e Government:, giving instructions as to the care of coDsctnptives. " I am suite certain that my re"turn to health and strength is " solely due to LANE'S EMULSION " and fresh air." Very £reatful]y and thankfully yours. (Signed) NELLY NIGHTINGALE.
