COMPENSATION OLAIMd. GOVERNMENT DEFEATED. fflE PRESS ASSOCIATION, Received 28,10.49 p.m. Cape Tows, August 26. Mr Burton, ia the Cipe Assembly, J moved for the appointment of a Supreme Court Judge to investigate the nurtial law sentences and the establishment of a Court of Appeal to deal with the rejected compensation tla\me, and claims alleged to be inadequately paid. Sir Gord-m Sprigg said the motion was in practicable. The Commission had already investigated 60,000 claims, and 25,000 were still uninvestigated. If the motion was carried the Government must consider its position. The motion was carried by 32 to 22.
