Loubet's visit to England had evoked a striking exhibition of mutual goodwill, It mentioned that g r eat had been made in the settlement and purification of the Transvaal and Orange Colonies. It ata referred to the Balkans trouble, and to affiura in India and Somaliland, whfch he wao hopeful future operations would prove' more favourable. During h<s visit to Ireland he notioed with deepest gratification signs of the iocreasiog concord among all presaging, he hoped, a new era of united effort for the general welfare. The speech reviewed the chief me** surea dealt with during the session.
