Apologies were received from Messrs King, Oorkill, Newman and Cock. A letter was read from Mr John Gibson, of Patia, enclosing a proposed time-table (already published) and one from the Vlayor of Patea enclosing a resolution in favor by the Patoa Borough Oouncil. After a full discussion it was resolved on the motion of Mr Paul, seconded by Mr Oonnett:—That the Chairman with Messrs Fraser, Johns, George, Berry, and Goldwater, be a oommittee to deal with the question of the alteration of the railway time table, and to comraunioate with the Railway Department (and if they see fit with any other Chamber of Commerce) on the subject; that it be an instruction to the committee to keep in view the necessity of not lengthening che time of the through train and not delaying the time of arrival at New Plymouth of the morning train from southern stations. Mr Fraser called the attention of the meeting to the discontinuance of the Union Company's through boat to Westport. Mr Morgan explained that cargo could be sant by the returning coal beats three or four times a month. It was decided on the motion of Mr Paul, seQonded by Mr Samuels:—That the Marine Department be requested to make Cape Egmont a reporting fetation. This concluded the business.
