It was incidentally mentioned in the Supreme Court at Wellington that pro- . bite duty on i' 224,182 had been paid on the estate of the late John MoLean of Redcastle. The police at Wellington on Tuesday arrested John. Clark, alias John Angus,, on a charge of shooting Alexander Hogg. Somo evenings ago Hogg was talking to an unknown woman when a man came up and shot him in the leg with ar evolver. Clark was remanded at the Police Court ' to-day.
