Tho election on Wednesday for two vacancies on the Opunake Town IWd resulted as follows: E. O'Meara C 3 J Guy 46 W.O.Dudley 45 A Rood deal ot interest was taken in the election. TheTaranaki Education Board has been criticised tor giving outside teachers a show, and the Wellington Board for not doing so. Saturday's " Now Zealand limes says:-Further proof of the cosmopolitan views of tho Wellington Education Board was given this week bv three appointments to schools. Ouo was that of a teacher from Napier to the school at Newina'i, another was that of i Picton teacher to the Tawa Flat School" and the third was the appointment to an up country school of a teacher trained in the Board . s service. These, in addition ! to a long list of instances published last month, form a conclusive answer to the charges of parochialism recently made against the Board. '
