VOLUNTEER NEWS.

Military overcoat will be served out to the Taranaki Guird? on Tuesday •vening.

Colonel WeVb, the tfficer in C3mmtnd of the Volunteer district, will pay a visit of inspection to the Taramaki dorps in September. We hear that he is insisting upon a rigid adherence to the drill minual of 1903. Drill instructors should lose no time in seeing that corps give the new drill •very possible attention.

A rumour is current that General Babbington will sceompiny Colonel Webb on his v ; sit of inspection to Taranaki. Not before it is time. His neglect of this district is scandalous.
