The local.* started a rush, right up to N.Z.'s line, and, through Wallace fumbling the ball, the visitors were compelled to force, New '.land's aggressive play becam9 exciting. Ogaird collared Asher repeatedly. New Zealand whs forced twice in- quick succession, but a little later, from a penalty to them in front of the goal, Wal'ace nearly cffec'ed a ecore, the bill just passing the post. This was followed by a great rush into the Sydney quarters, in which Udy put in a capital run, Wood pissed to Oooke, then the ball went back to Wood and on to Asher, the latter being thrown out. The local men were now sorely pressed, and New Zealand, time and again, looked like scoring, but a penalty kick against them relieved the position. The New Z?alanders, however, returned to the attack, and MacGregor nearly crossed the line, A bit of off-side play on the part of one of the visitors was again the means of getting the Welshman out cf a tight corner. Later another good opening was made, but Asher failed to hold the ball, and half time waa ealled with the score New South Wales . ■ 8 New Zealand .. .. 0
The second half had not long been started when the hopes of the New South Wales suppoitors were rudely dashed to tha ground, as the visitors got going with a will aod in a few minutes Duncan, their skipper, wound up a good run by pissing to Long, who scored an eaiy try, and the kiok at goal was improved by Wallaoe. New Zealand .. .. 5 New South Wales ~ 3 The game was hardly resumed before Duncan was again to the fore, and he carried ths leather down to the local 25' i?, where he transferred it to Humphries, who in turn passed it along to Mo Minn, who scored. The angle was a difficult one and Wallace failed to convert. New Zealand .. .. 8 New South Wales .. 3 The visitors were soon on the aggressive agiin, and S.eid, after a gx>;i run, passed to Asher, who dashel for the line, but was pushed out just iu the corner, from the throw in a fine pass to Wood, then to Duncan, Stead and Asher iu quick succession enabled the last named to gat over, but Wallace failed to improve the score. The local men were visibly outplayed and hopelessly unable to withstand the rushes of the visitors who returned (o the attack with a fine dribbling rush started b . Given and Mo Minn, and finishing with Wood scoriQg, Wallace's kick at goal being successful.

| A GOOD REOOKD. The New Zealand team has won everyone of the four matches played so far by the following points:— July 18—New South Wales by 12 to 0 July 22—Buthurst by 47 to 7. July 25 —New Sou><h Wulea by 3 to 0. July 29 - New South Wt.les by 33 to 3. Total number of points scored 95, agaius'j 10. The next milch is to be playod at Brisbane against Queensland on Ist August.
