Tha maximum cost of ;c nductiDg the business in the first year is sec down at ,£1960. It is proposed apparently to sell legs of mutton ut 7d per lb, shoulders and loins at 6d, necks 3£d, and breasts 2d. On this bwis a sheep of 601b, costing 4d per lb on the trucks in London, would realis £1 6s 9|d, or a profit of 6s 9| J. Tht prices proposed to be charged for lamb from April to September are : —Lags, shoulders and loin? 85, ueoka 6d, bre s s &<i. The pric s for lamb are to be Id per lb l.ss from October to March. It is estimated that each depot wi 1 sell 30 sheep and 100 lambs per week from April to September, and 50 eheep aiid 40 lambs pgr week from October to March, and 24001b of beef per week throughout the first year. The profi , on betf sales is estimated at Id per lb The total cost of the sheep supplies for a depot for the fust year is estimated at £5083, on which it is estimated there will be a profit of £1577, which with £520 profit on beef wou'd mike the total prc fit £2197 ; and after deducting expanses and 5 per ce it for contingencies there is a net prcfit shown of iCI37 3s, which is 6J per cent on the £2OOO capital embarked on the depot. Then, according to the estimate, the are likely to jump 50 per cent duting the second y,ar, and the balance-sheet would shoiv a net profit of .£289 6s BJ, or 14| pet cent.on the original capital. In the thitd year there is a further increase c,f 50 per cent in the sal s, with, of ccuae, only a small increase in the expetjses, f<nd the net prefh is shown at £979 12) 7d, equal to 47g per cent on tha £2OOO originally embarked on the depot.
