EARTHQUAKES.
Per Press Association,
New York, July 22. A severe earthquake was felt throughout the Island of St. Vincent. Ia Sonffriere is ageiu in a state of eruption.
Sydney, July 23. The steamer Stettin reports that a •evere earthquake occurred at Hatupu, New Britain, just bsfore she left on the 13th. There are no details. Received 23,955pm Sydney, July 24. The Stettin experienced a severe ■ubmarine shock the day she left Hatupu, causing the steamer to vibrate. The Captain ie of opinion the shock must have been strongly felt inland, and fears considerable damage.
