THE OLD MENS HOME.

His Wobship the Matoe (Mr R, Dock) witb Mrs Cock, paid a visit to the Old Men's Home on Saturday afternoon. The visit was quite unexpected, the custodian and the inmates gave them a very hearty welcome. Mr and Mrs Cock made a complete tour of the buildings and surroundings, and were exceedingly pleased with the institution. Speaking to a representative of the News, His Worship spoke in high ! terms of the manner in which the Home is conducted, everything was I scrupiously clean end every reasonable comfort supplied to the inmates, who all appeared perfectly happy and comfortable, in fact, His Worship remarked ; that many of them were better off than they had ever been in their lives. Before leaving the institution His Worship took occasion, on behalf of himself aud Mrs Cock, to warmly commend Mr and Mrs Farrah (the custodians) on the state of the Home, which His Worship said was a credit to Taranaki.
