Friday, upon the application of Mr Roy (Roy and Wilson), granted letters of administration of the estate and effeots of I Robert William Woods, deoeaaed. The Colonial Piam Company notify the arrival of a consignment of pianos, which includes three upright Grand Gold Medal Pianos, by J. and J. Hopkinson; four pianos "Educational Model," by Hop Vinson ; four Barrett and Robinson, and one American Upright Grand Piano by Kingsbury. The latter pianos are new to ' this district, but are much in demand in i the larger centres. The Colonial Piano Company have at present a very large stock of pianos and organs on hand, and their manager, Mr H. E. Kountree, in--1 vites inspection.
I'm off to town to get trimmed up at Mason's Hairdressing Saloon, Broughamstreet. Tickets, three for Is,—Advt. Keep the date in view, and look ont for further particulars —Advt, The man named Maybum Divers, who> it will be remembered, was brought up some weeks back, and subsequently al lowed to become an inmate of the Old People's Home, waß handed over to the police again on Friday in consequence of having developed a suicidal mania. He will be brought before the Court to-day. One of the attractions at Mr Mr Jess Collier's benefit concert on Monday neit will be a display of physical exercises, by the Taranaki Guards' squad. We regret to state that Mr H. Linn, of Mr Newton King's staff, met with a severe accident while driving to town from Okato on Thursday. When coing at a good pace the attachment of the pole bar to the buggy (a hired one) broke, and the occupants were thrown out, Mr Linn, who held on to the reins, having several ribs damaged, besides other injuries. He was brought into town, and taken homo, where he was attended to, and is pre* greasing favourably. What next! An egg has been found in a hen's nest at Blum, Texas, with the sentence, "The end of the world is at hand," inscribed in raised letters forming part of the shell. It has caused great excitement among the local population. Mr W. T. Jennings, M.H.R., was presented on Thursday, at ParliamentBuildings, with a gold watch and chain for Mrs Jennings, a tribute from Auckland friends as a souvenir of the success of Mr Jennings in winning the Egmonfc seat at the general election. The Hon, J. Carroll made the presentation. All those interested in the Hospital ball are requested to meet at the Council Chambers on Monday next, at 3.30 p.m. It is requested that all donations and proceeds of tickets sold, and also unsold tickets, be handed to Mr 8. Teed befera the meeting. On Ihursday next Mr Newton Kins: will bold an nnreaeived clearing sale of diirv fajm stock at Okato, on account of Mr J. Wooldrldge. The cows, numbering about 100, ate a real t'p-top lot of early oalvers, and have been carefully selected by* Mr Wooldridge.
