AN EXPRESS DERAILED. THE ENGINE EXPLODM. Per Press Association. Beceived 17, O.EO a.m. London, July 16. An express going to Soutbport was derailed at Waterloo, near Liverpool, and went crashing into the lower part of a footbridge, causing appalling wreckage. Five persons were killed and many iDjued, 30 being conveyed to the hospital. The engine, continuing its career, entered the station, when it veered round, burled itself upon the platform, and exploded, The tioket office was wrecked.
