Per Frexg Association, Wellington, July 16. This morning Mr Adama dealt at some length on the point raised by the Chief Justice that the Magistrate had no jurisdiction to void a poll, and supported tbat view. Mr A'kio=on followed on the same side and laid stress on the point tbat the absurdities suggest-d during the argument would neocssaiily apply to tbe first poll under the Act. After Mr Athi'son finished, Mr Morison replied in detail and adduced arguments agaioat the grant of a mandamus. He urged that if necessary section 3 must be read out of the Act A dispute than arose as to wheth- r Mr Skerrett had a right to reply, i Sonw of the judges thought the ari rangement was tbat Mr Morison only' should reply, and the Chief Justice i held tbat it was a dangerous precedent I to set up. Eventually it was agreed to i bear Mr Skerrett, and he proceeded to i speak ogain at length. Judgment was reserved,
