FEB PEEBS ASSOCIATION. 1 Donedin, July 16. 1 The inquest on the body of Miss 1 Oampbell was resumed this morning. One witness testified to seeing deceased meet Osmond on the evening in question. Osmond carried a parcel, and deceased had no hat on. Dr. Evans testified that when he %aw the body at 3.30 in the afternoon it must hav been dead over 15 hours. He made a post mortem examination with Dr. Martin, bus found no sign of a mark or injury. Witness gave evidence as to finding deceased in a certain condition, and that certain internal parts had been interfered with. He found no trace of poison. In his opinion the cause of death was syncope, or cardiac : inhibition, brought on by some manipu- ' lation of the internal parte, Ther. ' were similar cases where death had I been caused by' shock. Another wit- ' ness gave evidence as to finding a pen ' near toe body. ' Joseph 0. mond said he had not seen 1 his son since tbe evening of the 7th, l and bad no idea of his whereabout?.
