' Received 14, 10 41 p.m. Rome, July 14. The evening bulletin stated the decrease in strength continues, the pulse being feeble, and the condition serious, though no immediate danger was anticipated. Rejiter states that gnat uneasiness u felt at the Vatican, due to the almost entire failure of the renal functions. The patient is now becoming rapidly weaker, and his breaching more difficult Conversing with the Cardinals during the evening he experienced great difficulty in articalation, and replied only in monosyllables. His memory is less clear. Rumours are to the effec": that he is •offering from carcinomia of the liver. His mind made a slight rally, and late in the evening he conversed with Cardinal Satolli lucidly regarding the Biblical Committee. The Pops had a further relap'e at midnight, and his demise is feared at dawn.
