Jfer Press Association. Wellington, July 13. Thi Executive Committee of the Municipal Associa'ion met this morning and piesad a number of resolutions. The present provision of the Public Health Ac*, 1900, compelling boroughs and other local bo lies to accept the liability to provide haspi'als for infectious cases was declared unsatisfactory, and the Government will be to place the responsibility on Hospital and Charitable Aid B3ards. The following remits from affiiated bodies were adop'ed: -That balancesheets be made up and audited halfyearly ; that advertising balance-sheets and the preamble to Statutory notices ba disp nsed with ; that transfer from separate ecsouuts to general accounts be permitted of proportionate p»rts of the cost of office, supervision, clerical WHks, etc, tint the Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1877, ba brjught up to date; that tha section of the Municipal Corporations Act of 1900 (316), making Borough Councils liaoie for companpati >n for uninsured or insufficiently ir.su ed property be repealed ; thut sec ion 35 of the Municipal Corporation Act of 1886, b< rearorcd so a« to giva local boJies rating power ovtor foreshores; that Borough Councils have power to acquire compuleorily gasworks held by private cimrj.micii; that Hospital Boards be empowered to expend money oa lands and buildings. DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. —— Wellington, July 14. A deputation from the Municipal Association waited on the Promier todav, and brought under his notice a resolution passed at yesterday's conference—That his attention should be drawn to the fact that Charitable Aid Boards had no power to buy land, or to put up buildings, and only had power to repair existing buildings.
