BREACHES OF DAIRY REGULATIONS.

At the S.M. Court, Patea, we learn from the Press, Rasmus Rasmussen was charged under the dairy regulations with being the owner cf a dairy within the meaning of the eaid regulations, and failing to register the same, ana pleaded guilty. Mr Deem, dairy inspector, appeared in support of the charge, and s lid he wished to point out to the public generally, that hotel and boarding-house keepers, who keep cows for the convenience of the said house?, came within the meiniog of the regulations under the Dairy Industry Act, and must register. He a'so pointed out that if a person u-:ed milk in a hotvl or boardiDg-hcuse he was just as entitled to clean and whoksome milk as if he bought it from a dairyman. Mr Deem said that as in the preeent case the costs were considerable, he did not press for t, hewy penalty. A second information was for selling milk from an unregistered dsiry. The Magistrate, in giving judgment, said that owing to this bang the first cise in the district, and the inspector not pressing for a penalty, he would deal with defendant leniently. Mr Kenny stated, however, that defendant was liable to a penalty of £SO, and the requirements of the Act must be strictly adhered to. A fine of 5s on each charge was imposed.
