CONTROL OF THE PKESS. Per Press Association, Received 10, 0.56 a.m. London, July 9, Mr Arthur Basil Markham, member of the House of Commons for Mansfield, has handed tha Daily News a cheque for to be donated to the London Hospital it his allegations that De Beers and their Rhodesian associates own control of the greater part of the South African press is not substantiated.
The Cipe Times ofifrs a similar amount for the South African Hospital if Mr Markham's statement is established against itself, or the Transvaal leader.
