A MEMORABLE GATHERING. Thb interior of WhUeley Hall on Tuesday presented an unwonted aspect, but oae in perfect keeping with the rare and uo'que event which was celebrated. Whrn the first portion of the guests arrived »t the afternoon reception the scone became v- ry sti iking, as tho m-j jruy of theoa wore tjolden yellow flowers and fern sprays. It was a plm-ing sight, the genial smiles ot all present. betokening the hrppiness of the gathering, while even j the sun itself seemed to bathe the scene in a flood of golden glory. Naturally Mr and Mrs Ok<?y were the centre of attraction, and the aonuine heartiness and sincerity of the good wishes and congratulations they receive! must have Banvinced them of the high esteem and veneration in which they were held, and that their long career of s(ool and us.ful work had gained for them the goodwill of their neighbours. Both looked supremely happy in that quiet way, which betokened thit they possessed that true happiness emanating from the highest source. Moreover, in looking bick over the pas', ha'f century of weddfd life, they had good c\use for gratification at tho exceptional blessings received, for their, family of four sons and two daughters were all living, were all married, and except in one case, all their children (25) were alive. Bush a record muat be rare, and may well be a source of pride and thankfulness.
