WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.
(From our Owh Uobrksposdbst.) At tho monthly meeting of the abov« BoarJ, there were piesent:—Mr. T. Wes'ern (chairmm), Messrs. Orowe, French, Old, and Turubull. Correspondence wis read from the Treasury, s'a'ing thit a loac on Te Arui-read would t e granted, provided the neces-ary atep3 w< re taken; and from Mr. T. G. Sole, stating that th<» money available would bj suffiiient to deviata the Te Arei-road, The Olerk was directed to instruct Mr. Bile to proceed with w >rk on the Te Arei-road as soon as possible.
It was resolved that a general rate of be struck for the eoeu'ng yetr, and a separit-i rrlea l e of |d on the Lepper, Manutabi Eist, Manutahi West, Cbrbefci", and Te Arei roads. Tha Sin freeman was directed to procure pipei for culverts on the Yo kroad, also to widen aid grado (he hill on the lower end of the Oirbett road.
Mr. Turnbull rep rted tint Mr. Oi bell had gone over the Kelly-road with bini, arid would forward plans and specific iM'ons as soon as possible, and is was decided to hold a special meeting to consider same.
The Kpicial order making a special rate on the Ta Arei-road was adopted ; to be confirmed at next meeting of Board.
Accounts were pv-s d for payment and the Board adjourned.
