The petiiouer believe-, that the petition nevar reached ths King, but is bding blocked by tho War Office, The Shite Treasurer trusts he will announce a surp'us of £153,000 when ho m\':os his Budget statement. The Government has effected a reduction in State expenditure totalling £606,000. Of this £300,000 is a permanent reductionofworking expenses, railways beirg decreased by£284,000 and old Bge pensions by £70,000.
