THE IRISH LAND BILL.

The progress of the Land Bill is slow, Mr Wyndlnm refused to discuss Mr O'Donnell's suggestion that peasants should be allowed five acres each, though he p.omised to consider their posi ion. Mr William O'Brien moved to empower the Commissioners to arrange for the restoration of evicted tenants. Colonel Saunderson declared that hopeless social confusion would result; from an attempt to restore 40,000 tenants. Mr Wyndbam declined to give a peremptory direction to the Commissioners, and allowed them wide discretion with regatd to reinstating tenatts and providing the capital to re-stock their 'holdings. The amendment was withdrawn.
