Referring to the runaway truck rrom Eltham, we learn that the distance from Eltham to Hawera was covered in 20 minutes, the "flairera Star" says: News of the affair was reoeived at tho local station some few minutes before ac rival, and preparations were made to re ceive it. The waggon was seen to come through the trees in the distance, followed closely by the engine, and coming at the rate or' about 40 mile an hour. On the flat considerable pace was lost, the engine ultimately obtaining command j within about two hundred yards of the station. Information has been reoeived j that Potter, a railway servant, was down the line on a velocipede trolley when he heard the truck coming, and h:id only jufet time to jump off. The truck oulljded with the trolley, throwing it over Potter's leg. The extent of his injury is not known, but it is thought he only received a few bad bruises,
