LAND FOR SETTLEMENT. OHRIBTOHUROH DIVISION. FKB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Chbistchubch, June 30. Eight thousand one hundred and seventy four acres of second classrural Grown land, between Oxford and Sheffield were disposed of by ballot to-day, terms cash, and occupation with right of purchase cr lease in perpetuity. The: e were 344 applications, including 129 for a section of 263 acres, with right of purchase. I The Ohristchurch Draicage Board at a meeting to-day carried the following motion: That this Board take the necessary steps to procure the pissiDg cf a Bill through Parliament, authorising the raising by loan of a 6um no' exceeding £IO,OOO, for the purpose of constructing a sedimentation tank, tuch Bill to include authority to expand portion of the Ohristchurch City Loan (authorised by " Ohristehui ch District Drainage Act Act 1875, Amendment Act 1900,") in preparing addiional land at tbe Boards farm for fea'ment and reception of sewage.
