Ith | reports :—To-day Mr and Mrs Lumsden celebrated their silver wedding, having , been married by the Rev H. C. M. Wat-1, son,.at St. John' 3 Church, On June lith, | ■ 1878.. Mr Lumsden came to the colony j < in 1861 from Victoria, and has been en ' caged in the printing business since 1862. For the past thirty years he haß been en- 1 gaged at the " Lyttelton Times " office ; he is well known in connection with ' educational matters in the colony. Recently Mr Lumsden visited Victoria, and ■ while there ho inspected several of the State Schools, and on his return to Christchurch he gave his impressions of the system there to the " Press."
