- The Hon. J. Carroll has gone to Ta Kuiti to attend the Native Land Council meeting. He expects to return to Auck I J" I <J on Friday or Saturday, and leave for Wellington on Sunday. The R. and W. Hellaby Company, Ltd have acquired the business and works of the Auckland Freezing Company. The business will be conducted as formerly with the exception that extra opportunities will be offered to farmers and grazers to send their stock Home. We hear that the new series, issued by the Provident Building Society, was very largely over-applied for, and that a good many people were disappointed at not I having the number ot shares they asked for allotted to them. It is a very gratifying thiu« to tho management to see that the public have such confidence in tho concern, and it endorses our previously expressed opinion that the Society's | business is run on sound linos.—Advf ? 20, 22, 24
