AN IMPORTANT DECISION. FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, June 20. The judges appointed by the NewZealand Racing Conference to hear the appeal of J. Christie against the decision of the Greymouth and Reefton Clubs disqualifying the horse Killarney for the hurdle race at Reefton on March 27 have come to a conclusion on !the matter. They disallowed the technical objections to the appeal, and find that the rules which prevent the entry or running of a horse while the owner is on the unpaid forfeit list cannot be extended or interpreted so as to require or authoriss striking such horse out of a race, because at the time when some intermediate payment falls due the owner is on the unpaid forfeit list. The judges allowed the appeal and directed the Reefton Club to pay the stakes in the race to the owner of Killarney.
