Tbe Irish Bill is in Committee. - Mr Redmond's amendment to abolish the maximum limits of rent reduction tad extend the minimum whereto th> Bill restricted the commissioners, wa? rejected by 227 to 176. A lively debate took plaos on this crucial question. Mr Esdmond threatened he would not consider the Bill as fulfilling the hopes raised, or as settling the land question. It is manured in the lobbies that, if he persists, the Bill is likely to be dropped, inasmuch as it was offered on the understanding it would be accepted as a generous attempt to rattle the difficulty. Eighty Liberals rated with tbe minority. The Timet says the result was a foregone cooclurion.
