FEB PMSS ABSOOUttOK. CnaisTCHuaoH, June 15. The Oity Ojuocil this evening discussed the queJtion as to whether Freezing Companies should be allowed - to slaughter at their own works while butchers were compelled to daughter at the Council's abattoirs which will be completed soon. It was decided to phut* all on the same footing, and refute all applications to slaughter away from the municipal abattoirs. The Counoil also decided to reoommend the Municiptl Conference in Wellington to consider a proposal to enable corporations t) oompaleorily purchase gasworks at prioei fixed by arbitration.
