SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.
The Board met on Friday, Fressnt I Messrs. Cock (Obairmao), M&okeilie, Fault, Wade, and A lis worth. The Boird's solicitor repsrted on the p-sition of tho following matters; Western exchange, Riupuha tchool f-i'e, E-ik-road dam, Kihui-road Road dchoul site, and Hill-rotd deviation. With regard to the E-k-road data the Board dfoidei to communicate with Oiptan T. M. Smith and his tenant, ana with the Stratford Borough Omu* cil, and to urge that steps be taken to remove the permtnent oveifl >w of water caused by the dam on section 103, block 2, Ngaire, which prevent* rr flic on the Bik-roid, _aud a'so depreciates the value of the Board's ssoiiou No. 12. Mr. Allsworth give notice of motion for next meeting: Thit the resolution passed at the Bond's meeting on February 20 b, 1003, with respect to rental (iue by M< ssrs. T. M. Is was decided to set aside £2O 10s for the purchase of two acres, put of section 18, block 14, Cape, for a sits for the Kahui-roid school.
The Wanganui Kduoation Board ftpplied for an additional acre adjacent to the To Roti schoil site. The solicitor will reply to the Board and explain the situation. The following transfers wen agreed to on usu4 terms: -T. E. Oatchpole to T. F. Summons, section 63, block 1., Mahoe ; H. Brown and Go. to W. B. Ireland, B'Ction 113, block 1, Ngeire; W. A. Wright to H. McKetn, eeotioa 57, block 1, Ng&ire. The BoarJ agreed on Ihi terms to tbe sub-lease of section 1, block 5, Ha were, from J. V. Wybo.-n to J.'. B, Eiley. Mtssra Wes'.un and Weston applied on bihalf d Mr 0. T. Bundle far leave to surrendor bis lease of pirt 25, Him and Waiwakabio, and the i«eueof a new lease to L. F, Beare, or in tbe alternative that he be al'owed to trans« fer to Mr Beere. The Boird decided that it would not relieve Mr Bundle from liability, but. would be prepared to facilitate any sub-leasing which would tend to put the land into a satisfactory condition. Several consents to mortgage jwere confi<med.
On tbe application of A. and W. Brown for the revaluation of their lease of section block 13, Huirot,the usual resolution was pawed appointing Mr G. A. Marchant arbitrator for the Boird.
Accounts, £65 18) 41, were puwed for payment. A sub-lease of half of section 19, New Plymouth, was granted from B. Todd to P, B. Boss, jun. The surrender of section 107, block 2, Ngiire, was accpted, and two new leases will bs granted to G. Junes and Brooking respectively. The Commissioner of Crown Jjtnda wrote re proposed legislation for the Western Park, New Plymouth. The D.O.A. notified that he dii< | claimed the lease of A. Honey, a | bankrupt. | The Board rose.
